Terms:

• Good: The bridge's deck, superstructure, and substructure were rated in good, very good, or excellent condition. In the case of culverts, the culvert was evaluated to have shrinkage cracks, no noticeable deficiences, or no deficiences.
• Fair: The bridge's deck, superstructure, and/or substructure were rated in fair or statisfactory condition. In the case of culverts, the culvert was evaluated to have moderate to major deterioration, or initial disintegration.
• Poor: The bridge's deck, superstructure, and/or substructure were rated in poor, serious, critical, "imminent" failure, or failed condition. In the case of culverts, the culvert was evaluated to be in a condition worse than fair.
